Socialising your child during the pandemic
Enrolling young children in nurseries could be incredibly beneficial to their wellbeing and development, according to Ashbourne Day Nurseries. The group – which has three settings in Milton Keynes – recognises the importance of varied and stimulating care provisions for their children and new starters.
Socialising your little ones is still possible and enrolling your child in a nursery is a great way to get them used to interacting with others.
“Due to the pandemic this year, socialising is more important than ever for young children,” said Lisa Hack, Customer Relations Officer, who has 30 years of experience in childcare. “We are delighted that we can continue to welcome your children into our nursery as usual and that the Government has acknowledged the importance of keeping Early Years settings open throughout the new lockdown. Many young children haven’t met or interacted with as many people as they would have otherwise.
“Socialising, meeting new people and learning through play is really important for a child’s development,” continued Lisa. “Ideally, children will be confident in socialising with other children and adults before they reach school age so that they can confidently transition into school with the skills they need.
“We know parents may feel concerned with the lack of social activity options available this year. Enrolling your young child in a nursery can be a really effective way for them to play, learn and build positive relationships with other people. Our nursery provisions also provide tailored settling-in sessions, flexibility and support providing peace of mind for parents in what has been a trying year for many.”

“My son has been attending Ashbourne since he was nine months old. The staff have a friendly warm welcome attitude and I feel my child’s development, health, and well being is always a priority. There are always lots of fun and exciting activities and its refreshing to get observations of what’s been happening during the day/week. I like that they celebrate lots of different holidays and cultural days and events and that my son is learning another language – Spanish. Well done. Keep up the good work.”

“Little Acorns is a wonderful nursery it has helped my son come so far. He has learnt so much as well as social skills. The staff are polite and friendly and go out of their way to help in any way. They helped me when we first moved here and took my daughter on with short notice before she started school. Both my children love it there ,it really is one of the best nurseries around.”
